I know mom was anxious to see these sneak peeks – and with a face like this who wouldn’t be? This little man was super busy and had so much personality and charm!

And stay tuned…this beautiful Mom-To-Be has dropped the To-Be and has a sweet baby girl I will get to meet soon!

And to wrap it all up…I know I’ve been neglecting the blog lately,  and there’s really no good excuse. Unless you count this one….

Meet our newest addition, Roxie! We haven’t had a formal session yet, but I promise to share here when we do!

Have a wonderful and safe Labor Day Weekend. We will be closed on Monday, September 7 but I will return calls and emails promptly on Tuesday!

August 14, 2009

I hope everyone who started school this week survived the new schedule and are enjoying their teachers and classes!

The studio will be closed though Monday, Aug. 17 but will reopen on Tuesday. Please be patient as I return calls and emails.

I am running out so no time for a Flashback Friday. However, my loyal blog followers are important to me. So -whoever emails me at info@mhaleyphoto.com before Sunday, Aug. 16 will receive one complimentary weekday session fee! Session must be scheduled before 2010 and applies to the session fee only. Upgrades to weekend, newborn or on-location sessions will be available.

Have a fabulous weekend and enjoy the last days of summer!

~Michelle

I hope everyone is enjoying Summer as much as we are. The lack of scheduled activities and homework has been so liberating….I could get used to this! But thankfully the studio is still keeping my feet on the ground. Here’s what I’ve been up to lately:

And I think someone mentioned it’s FRIDAY! Well, I’m in a fun mood so let’s get on with

and for fun we’ll have three potential winners for this week!

Go splash in the pool and I’ll see you here soon with more sneak peeks!

~M

Brandy: You always do such gorgeous work Michelle! Hope your summer is going well.

PamN: Beautiful work Michelle! I'm with you, though...long live summer!

Hadley: Michelle, your tones are always so gorgeous. No wonder you're so busy this summer! That top image just melts my heart!

jeff: Great ideas for some wonderful shots. Good work and I bet the families were very happy.

It’s fairly predictable that my blog will be neglected over the fun summer months. The kids are out of school and I am balancing their activities with a busy studio schedule.  I will make every effort to post more frequently. The studio will be closed for a few days over the Fourth of July, but we’ll be back in full swing after that!

Here are a couple of peeks of what I’ve been up to – Mr. C here came in for his six month session. He was so happy and such a charmer! Big brother posed for some pictures, too (bottom image):

Mr. F has been visiting the studio since he was six months old. I can’t believe he’s three years old already! At the same time, he’s so talkative and smart that you would think he’s four!

And I haven’t forgotten…..

Many of you noticed we didn’t have one for last week. I had every intention of adding one for this week and have three potential winners. However, the schedule is getting tight this summer and I don’t want to make it difficult for the winners to book their sessions. So without further ado….

If your photo is featured be sure to contact me before next Friday for your complimentary session and 8×10!

Go splash in a pool and enjoy the weekend!

~M

Kate: I can't wait to see the rest! LOVE the pic of Charlie! Poor Jesse just wasn't in the mood I'm afraid!

PamN: Beautiful images. Really reminds you of just how fast they grow!

Giovanna: Just beautiful!

Kristie Chadwick: Great images. Your lighting is perfect. I love flashbacks!

Anna Mayer: Oh...love that first one of the baby hanging. Simple and delicious.

Fridays are turning out to be one of the busiest days of the week, so please be patient as you check in for the Flashback Friday contest! Remember to contact me before next Friday if you see your child featured here!

Little Miss A here had the most gorgeous blue eyes and she was so much fun during her session! I hope to see her again soon!

And Mr. C did exactly what he was told – he slept through his newborn session. Since babies tend to look similar as newborns I decided to add a second image from his session :) .

I hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing weekend! I have lots of recent work to share here as soon as I can get to posting!

Cheers!

M

Chelsea: Was there a flashback Friday from yesterday?

Curtis Copeland: Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing your faith on your twitter site! Be blessed!

Kellie: I had just randomly googled your name to see what you were up to and I see my baby girl on the screen. I did a double take. What a neat contest you have going..never heard of that before. Avery did have so much fun at her session. I'll email you about the contest.

raye: So cool. Love that idea and what a gorgeous girl.

I suppose this blog could be considered a thank you for a thank you. A sweet and talented photographer friend, Heather Mosher, sent me this gorgeous bouquet to thank me for helping her with some computer issues. While I do hear my fair share of thank yous and certainly hand them out just as often, this is the best one I’ve seen in awhile. So thank you right back, Heather. I’m loving these flowers. And how adorable are the lemons in the pitcher?

p.s. If you’re in the New Jersey area and want some amazing photos of your chlid you’d be doing yourself a favor to check out Heather’s work – oh, yes you would! Just click on her name above to visit her website.

Is everyone else enjoying the weekend?

Cheers,

M

Shellie: What gorgeous flowers and such a great way to say thanks!

Kimberly Hill: Too sweet! Doesn't a "thank you" just make your day?

Marmalade: Very well deserved I'm sure as you always go out of your way to help peeps!! Beautiful flowers.

Danna: what a thoughtful and "sweet" gift :-)

Brandy: That was very sweet Heather!

PamN: :)

Anna: Those are just beautiful! What a nice way to say thanks!

Julie: How sweet of her! And what a GORGEOUS arrangement! I just love it!

No I didn’t forget the new blog feature – and judging from my web stats today you didn’t, either! I’ve been swimming in sessions to edit – which makes me very happy! So let’s get to it!

I’m sure these two cuties have grown so much since I last saw them! Hope to see you both again soon!

Mom or Dad, be sure to contact me this week to claim your complimentary session and 8×10!

I’ll try to come back and add some sneak peeks!

Flashback Friday!

May 22, 2009

Hope everyone is having an awesome day. It’s time for our very first Flashback Friday! So what exactly IS Flashback Friday? It’s  a new weekly blog feature on Shooting the Breeze. Each Friday I will use a scramble program to randomly select two sessions from the archives. One photo from each of the sessions will be featured on Shooting the Breeze. The clients featured will be eligible to win a free 8×10 from the archived session and a free session fee towards their next session! If your family is featured you have one week – until midnight on the following Thursday – to contact me to claim your prize.

Please read the rules and regulations by clicking here.

Without further ado, here are this week’s two featured sessions – both from 2007:

Good luck and have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Jane Eaton Hamilton: Sure makes me long to see this little baby as a two year old! Man, what a cutie.

allie: flashback friday ROCKS, michelle- what fun!! love to see the images, too! :)

Brandy: What an awesome idea!!!

Danna: what an AWESOME and fun idea!!

Jen Bird: What a great idea!!!

Did you guys catch the most entertaining season finale Idol has EVER put on last night? Simply amazing! My boy Kris won – although Adam is crazy talented as well and America really couldn’t have gone wrong with either! I have to say that with all that talent in one place there was a little bit of something for every taste – Rod Stewart, Black Eyed Peas, Cyndi Lauper, Santana, Lionel Richie, KISS….good grief that totally made up for the lousy KC and the Sunshine Band visit on disco night.

I’m still on Cloud Nine and want to spread the joy. So if you’re a client and you are reading this. Heck, if you’re not a client and you want to be…here’s the deal.

Make a comment to this post or any other on the blog  and you will get a free 5×7 from a past or future session. Today only. Free is good, right?*

Go Kris!

*one bit of the proverbial fine print (although technically this isn’t fine, the size is the same): Offer does not apply to orders already placed. Thanks!

**UPDATE**

Wow – incredible reponse! Thanks so much to all who participated. We have 21 awesome clients who will be claiming their 5×7!

I will be in touch with everyone to see which 5×7 you would like. They will need to be sent to the lab together to help make the workload manageable, so I will let you know an order deadline. A few people were confused about the fine print. That only applies to orders recently placed with me that have not yet been delivered. Any image that you orginally purchased from a past session will be in the archives and can be pulled. You can also opt to use it for a future session.  These are unmounted 5×7s and unfortunately upgrades to larger sizes are not possible.

Thanks again and please be patient – it may take a few days to get to everyone!

Stay tuned….it’s Flashback Friday!!!

Jenna: Kris ROCKS!!! I was so glad that he pulled it out and not Adam. Adam will do just fine anyway. He seemed super nice, just a little weird.

admin: Erica Baisas gets her 5x7 for commenting a few posts down. Good to point out that you can leave your comment here or anywhere on the blog! Thanks!

Kate O: I was a big Kris fan too! Was happily surprised when he won!

Sheri: I was super glad that Kris won, since he also plays the piano, guitar, etc.! His more style is more conventional and "American." I'm sure Adam will do just fine with the kick start he received.

admin: Erinn gets her prize...commented below! (keeping track of winners here).

Shelley: I was so glad Kris won. He looked totally surprised. I think they were both great guys, Kris is just more my style.

Lisa Dunn: I love American Idol. I'm going to miss it!

admin: Sheree - got your comment 3 down.

Andrea Mirsalimi: Oh, you probably won't like this, but I thought Adam was the one with the most star quality. I think he will be a bigger hit than Chris--even if Adam looks like he stepped out of the Rocky Horror Picture Show!

Julie: I missed it, I had to work last night! But I don't know how I feel about guys that wear eyeliner...

Markita S.: Okay...I really liked Adam. But I agree America could not have gone wrong either way!!!

Markita S.: Although I LOVED Adam....America choose well!!!

Colleen Smith: Yeah...Kris won!! I really thought Adam was going to win, but I was delightfully surprised. Kris was one of my favorites.

Anslie: This was the best season! I loved Kris

Chelsea: I was so excited I actually got through to vote for Kris! :-)

Tomeka: Michelle - long time no hear from - I see your work is still as beautiful as ever Gavan will be 7 months old on the 25th and steadily growing - take care:)

stephanieprock: I was for Kris too! He has been my favorite for the entire time. Plus, I am an AR girl rooting for the home town boy! I don't have any orders pending but I made a comment anyway.... maybe it will apply to future orders? It not oh well... this reminded me to look through your pics... which is always a joy!

Kelly Clymer: I think it turned out the best for everyone. Adam is a superstar and doesn't need idol...Kris is such a sweetheart and can benefit from what idol can offer him!!! I love AI

Diane: Adam is talented and belongs entertaining in Las Vegas! I am so glad Kriss won...this was the best season ever!

admin: Nancy and Athena I got yours a few down and Becky your technical difficulties are noted!

Only a few spots left…

January 24, 2009

If you are interested in participating in the National Charity Model Search there are literally only a few spots available. We have over 20 kids entering from my studio and I can’t wait for you guys to grace the national gallery.

I’m thinking hard about what to offer as the grand prize for the largest number of votes from my studio. If you have suggestions I’m open to them – tell me what you like!

See you back here soon with some newborn sneak peeks…

~M

Shelley Rankin: I wish I could bring MJ down for you to photograph her. :) This is really neat lady. Have fun with the contest.
