Since about 90% of my shoots are maternity or newborn clients, it’s such a thrill to photograph a couple who clearly adore each other. My cousin Ian recently asked his beautiful girlfriend to be his wive. She said yes -and these images tell their story.

Blog Carousel Theme: Love & Passion

“You must remember this, a kiss is still a kiss….” Louis Armstrong’s classic “As Time Goes By” plays in the background as I type, with the beloved scratchy noises of the old fashioned turntable from which it was recorded. Of course, Sinatra’s version of the song is more popular, but the movie Sleepless in Seattle used Louis Armstrong’s version and now it just has to be Armstrong. I thought it was fitting for the images I would share for this blog carousel. Kisses are one of my favorite things to capture -spontaneous, fun, romantic, flirty or soul searching. They never disappoint my artistic eye. And when they are the ones that really show that deep connection between two people who’ve pledged a lifetime of love and commitment, they are the most beautiful thing ever.

Here are a few of my favorite kiss captures.

We’re back – and in full swing!

Back from a wonderful vacation – and ready to enjoy the new babies who’ve arrived. I will make every effort to post more frequently, but summer is turning out to be just as busy as the winter.

Here are some recent babes.

And if you can believe it, yet another Miss A (nope, none of their names are the same) had the most beautiful eyes.

And baby yawns are some of my favorite little things to capture – so Mr. C happily obliged.

We have several brand new babies who will make their photo debut soon, but here are some recents to enjoy in the meantime.

I can’t express enough how much I adore this family – theirs is a celebration of adoption and God’s faithfulness.

Squishy Wonderfulness…

I love my job. More often than not I have a sweet newborn, just days old, resting peacefully in my studio. As their story begins, I get to capture the “Once upon a time…” I pray that the moments I capture will be forever treasured as they take their journey through life. Someday a chubby little finger will point to these pictures and ask, “Was that you, Daddy?” And their little faces will reflect wonder and awe as they realize that Daddy was once a tiny baby. The one behind the camera is so grateful to record those moments, I assure you.

Here are some recents. Auburn fans will love this first little guy.

And “squishy wonderfulness” is surely the best noun to describe this sweet baby girl…

And we’ll finish up with sleepy little Drake.

This beautiful spring weather has left me with cravings for fresh fruits and veggies. I made this simple side dish the other night that would make a wonderful main dish…just add shrimp and penne pasta.

Fresh Asparagus with Red Pepper

Ingredients:

2 cups chopped baby asparagus….select slender bunches with firm tips that haven’t begun to sprout

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1 red bell pepper, chopped

1 clove garlic

Zest of 1 lemon

Saute asparagus and red pepper in garlic and oil for about 6-8 minutes, or until just tender. Add zest of 1 lemon and cook for additional 2 minutes. Garnish with fresh parmesan cheese. This is so yummy and so good for you!
