I suppose this blog could be considered a thank you for a thank you. A sweet and talented photographer friend, Heather Mosher, sent me this gorgeous bouquet to thank me for helping her with some computer issues. While I do hear my fair share of thank yous and certainly hand them out just as often, this is the best one I’ve seen in awhile. So thank you right back, Heather. I’m loving these flowers. And how adorable are the lemons in the pitcher?

p.s. If you’re in the New Jersey area and want some amazing photos of your chlid you’d be doing yourself a favor to check out Heather’s work – oh, yes you would! Just click on her name above to visit her website.

Is everyone else enjoying the weekend?

Cheers,

M

Shellie: What gorgeous flowers and such a great way to say thanks!

Kimberly Hill: Too sweet! Doesn't a "thank you" just make your day?

Marmalade: Very well deserved I'm sure as you always go out of your way to help peeps!! Beautiful flowers.

No I didn’t forget the new blog feature – and judging from my web stats today you didn’t, either! I’ve been swimming in sessions to edit – which makes me very happy! So let’s get to it!

I’m sure these two cuties have grown so much since I last saw them! Hope to see you both again soon!

Mom or Dad, be sure to contact me this week to claim your complimentary session and 8×10!

I’ll try to come back and add some sneak peeks!

TGIF!

Happy Memorial Day!

May 25, 2009

Hope everyone is enjoying their day with family and friends. I am so grateful to the men and women who have sacrificed so much to serve our country. And today our thoughts and prayers are with those families whose loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice and were killed in the line of duty. There are not enough words to say thank you!

Another special treat for those tuning in. If you participated in my free 5×7 American Idol giveaway you can upgrade your 5×7 to an 8×10. Just be the first to leave a comment on the blog – and you will win the larger size! Offer ends at midnight and only one winner will get the upgrade.

Enjoy and see you here soon!

Chelsea: YAY! I still don't know what picture I'm going to pick. Thank you also to all those who are fighting or have fought to protect our freedoms!

Flashback Friday!

May 22, 2009

Hope everyone is having an awesome day. It’s time for our very first Flashback Friday! So what exactly IS Flashback Friday? It’s  a new weekly blog feature on Shooting the Breeze. Each Friday I will use a scramble program to randomly select two sessions from the archives. One photo from each of the sessions will be featured on Shooting the Breeze. The clients featured will be eligible to win a free 8×10 from the archived session and a free session fee towards their next session! If your family is featured you have one week – until midnight on the following Thursday – to contact me to claim your prize.

Please read the rules and regulations by clicking here.

Without further ado, here are this week’s two featured sessions – both from 2007:

Good luck and have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Jane Eaton Hamilton: Sure makes me long to see this little baby as a two year old! Man, what a cutie.

allie: flashback friday ROCKS, michelle- what fun!! love to see the images, too! :)

Danna: what an AWESOME and fun idea!!

Jen Bird: What a great idea!!!

Did you guys catch the most entertaining season finale Idol has EVER put on last night? Simply amazing! My boy Kris won – although Adam is crazy talented as well and America really couldn’t have gone wrong with either! I have to say that with all that talent in one place there was a little bit of something for every taste – Rod Stewart, Black Eyed Peas, Cyndi Lauper, Santana, Lionel Richie, KISS….good grief that totally made up for the lousy KC and the Sunshine Band visit on disco night.

I’m still on Cloud Nine and want to spread the joy. So if you’re a client and you are reading this. Heck, if you’re not a client and you want to be…here’s the deal.

Make a comment to this post or any other on the blog  and you will get a free 5×7 from a past or future session. Today only. Free is good, right?*

Go Kris!

*one bit of the proverbial fine print (although technically this isn’t fine, the size is the same): Offer does not apply to orders already placed. Thanks!

**UPDATE**

Wow – incredible reponse! Thanks so much to all who participated. We have 21 awesome clients who will be claiming their 5×7!

I will be in touch with everyone to see which 5×7 you would like. They will need to be sent to the lab together to help make the workload manageable, so I will let you know an order deadline. A few people were confused about the fine print. That only applies to orders recently placed with me that have not yet been delivered. Any image that you orginally purchased from a past session will be in the archives and can be pulled. You can also opt to use it for a future session.  These are unmounted 5×7s and unfortunately upgrades to larger sizes are not possible.

Thanks again and please be patient – it may take a few days to get to everyone!

Stay tuned….it’s Flashback Friday!!!

Jenna: Kris ROCKS!!! I was so glad that he pulled it out and not Adam. Adam will do just fine anyway. He seemed super nice, just a little weird.

admin: Erica Baisas gets her 5x7 for commenting a few posts down. Good to point out that you can leave your comment here or anywhere on the blog! Thanks!

Kate O: I was a big Kris fan too! Was happily surprised when he won!

Sheri: I was super glad that Kris won, since he also plays the piano, guitar, etc.! His more style is more conventional and "American." I'm sure Adam will do just fine with the kick start he received.

admin: Erinn gets her prize...commented below! (keeping track of winners here).

Shelley: I was so glad Kris won. He looked totally surprised. I think they were both great guys, Kris is just more my style.

Lisa Dunn: I love American Idol. I'm going to miss it!

admin: Sheree - got your comment 3 down.

Andrea Mirsalimi: Oh, you probably won't like this, but I thought Adam was the one with the most star quality. I think he will be a bigger hit than Chris--even if Adam looks like he stepped out of the Rocky Horror Picture Show!

Julie: I missed it, I had to work last night! But I don't know how I feel about guys that wear eyeliner...

Markita S.: Okay...I really liked Adam. But I agree America could not have gone wrong either way!!!

Markita S.: Although I LOVED Adam....America choose well!!!

Colleen Smith: Yeah...Kris won!! I really thought Adam was going to win, but I was delightfully surprised. Kris was one of my favorites.

Anslie: This was the best season! I loved Kris

Chelsea: I was so excited I actually got through to vote for Kris! :-)

Tomeka: Michelle - long time no hear from - I see your work is still as beautiful as ever Gavan will be 7 months old on the 25th and steadily growing - take care:)

stephanieprock: I was for Kris too! He has been my favorite for the entire time. Plus, I am an AR girl rooting for the home town boy! I don't have any orders pending but I made a comment anyway.... maybe it will apply to future orders? It not oh well... this reminded me to look through your pics... which is always a joy!

Kelly Clymer: I think it turned out the best for everyone. Adam is a superstar and doesn't need idol...Kris is such a sweetheart and can benefit from what idol can offer him!!! I love AI

Diane: Adam is talented and belongs entertaining in Las Vegas! I am so glad Kriss won...this was the best season ever!

admin: Nancy and Athena I got yours a few down and Becky your technical difficulties are noted!

How is everyone in internetland? I have no clue what is going on with the weather, but my poor children have braved two unseasonably cool days in shorts because I took Spring for granted and expected her to stick around for awhile. Hopefully she’ll be back soon.

Just a quick peek at the most adorable almost six month old in the Peach State.  My niece (oh yes, you’ve seen her before, but for a recap here she is as a newborn and again at three months) spent the morning with me and I took a few snaps of her. I’ve no doubt she’d knock them dead someday as Miss America….look – she’s already perfected the wave!

She didn’t last for long, and signaled the end of our little session with one huge, contagious yawn. So I finished with a wounded ego for not being able to keep a six month old entertained and the urge to yawn continually – but unable to finish one. You know how frustrating it is when you get stuck mid-yawn?

Did it happen to you, too? Not sure it’s good to have a blog that makes visitors yawn. To help rectify this, here’s an

**EXCITING BLOG ANNOUNCEMENT**

If this sweet little two year old doesn’t captivate you with her blue eyes and  golden locks I just don’t know what will. She is just brimming with personality and ran the show during her session.

but I have to say she followed directions quite well…here she’s showing Teddy exactly where to sit to pose for the camera.

and if you ask her where her nose is she’s right on it!

I can’t wait for your mom to see the rest….you are truly a doll!

I have a Summer Special coming up….stay tuned to the blog for details~
